strongThe liver is the largest gland in the human body./strong It is also an essential organ of the digestive system and has a wide array of functions. On average, the liver of an adult weighs between 3.2 and 3.7 pounds. It is located in the right upper quadrant of the abdominal cavity. The liver has many functions and plays a large role in human metabolism and digestion.
