BPSC Exam Pattern:
The recruitment exam for filling up the vacant posts and new job posts in Bihar State Administration is conducted by the Bihar Public Service Commission. The candidates before starting preparations for the examination should read and understand the exam pattern to strategize the preparations.
BPSC Exam will be conducted in the three stages. The detailed BPSC Exam Pattern is mentioned here:

3. Personal Interview
BPSC Prelims Exam Pattern:
1. Prelims Exam will have One Paper.
2. The exam is required to be attempted in a maximum of 2 hours.
3. The type of questions that the Prelims Exam will have are objective-type.
4. The total number of questions in the Prelims Exam will be 150, constituting 150 marks for the exam.
5. There is no provision of negative marking in the examination.
6. The entire exam will have multiple-choice questions from General Studies subjects.
7. The minimum qualifying marks in BPSC Prelims are:
For General Category – 40%
For BC Category – 36.5%
For OBC Category – 34%
For Women/SC/ST/PwD – 32%
BPSC Mains Exam Pattern:
1. After clearing the minimum qualification criteria in the Prelims Exam, the shortlisted candidates will have to fill the application form for the Mains Exam.
2. BPSC Mains exam will have four papers:
General Hindi – 100 marks
General Studies Paper 1 – 300 marks
General Studies Paper 2 – 300 marks
One Optional Subject – 300 marks
3. The exam will be for the maximum duration of 3 hours for each paper.
4. The kind of questions BPSC Mains Exam will be of descriptive-type.
5. The candidate has the liberty to answer BPSC Mains in Hindi, English, or Urdu language.
6. The minimum qualifying marks in BPSC Mains are:
For General Category – 40%
For BC Category – 36.5%
For OBC Category – 34%
For Women/SC/ST/PwD – 32%
**After qualifying BPSC Mains eXam, the candidate will be called for the final interview followed by the medical examination.
