IIT JAM is an online entrance exam conducted jointly by IISc (Indian Institute of Science) & (IITs) Indian Institute of technology for admission to M.Sc. (Two Years), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, and other Post-Bachelor Degree Programmes. This exam is conducted in all the eight zones of India. To apply for JAM Joint Admission Test, the candidate must be a holder of Bachelors’ Degree in Science stream with minimum 55% aggregate marks for general and 50% for SC/ST/PWD candidates. This pen and the paper-based test are divided into seven subjects. There is no age limit for this exam. There is a total of 60 questions of 100 marks. These 60 questions are divided into three sections A, B, & C. Section A consists of 30 MCQs (multiple choice question). There is a negative marking of one-third mark for each wrong answer. There is no negative marking for the unattempted question. The duration of the exam is 3 hours. The medium for test instruction is English. Section B carries 10 questions of 20 marks, each answer has awarded two marks. There is no negative marking in section B. Section C is a numerically based question.
