NEE Exam: Exam Pattern, Insights and Details



North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology aka NERIST which is situated in Arunachal Pradesh is going to organize its yearly candidate selection test called NEE (NERIST Entrance Exam); this entrance test is taken by candidates who wish to pursue graduate degrees with science stream specialization; the institute offers a variety of courses in Engineering and Technology. As per the official notification NEE will be organized in three step fashion, that is, NEE First, then NEE Second and finally NEE Third; those who are eligible and meet the standard requirements of NERIST can apply for the entrance exam in the online mode. Candidates who successfully crack this exam are presented with three option choice, that is, if they wish to go for courses in base module, diploma module or degree module. Eligibility for NEE Exam 2020:

Educational qualification:

  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

Age limit:

  • For General candidates:
  • 23 years of age  (or born on or after August 1, 1996).
  • For OBC candidates:
  • 26 years of age (or born on or after August 1, 1993).
  • For SC/ ST/ PD candidates:
  • 28 years of age (or born on or after August 1, 1991).

  • Mode of exam: Offline

  • Total marks: 150
  • Total questions: 115
  • Marking scheme:
  • For 1 Mark questions:
    • For every correct answer, 1 mark each will be rewarded.
    • For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted
  • For 2 marks questions:
    • For every correct answer, 2 marks will be rewarded
    • For every wrong answer, 0.5 marks will be deducted

Physical-world and motion, Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work energy and power, Motion of system of particles and rigid body, Gravitation, Mechanics of solids and fluids, Thermodynamics, Oscillations, Waves, Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Electromagnetic waves, Electromagnetic induction and alternating currents, Magnetics effects of current and magnetism, Optics, Dual nature of matter and radiation, Nucleus, Solid and Semiconductor devices.

Chemistry

Basic concepts, Structure of atom and chemical bonding, States of matter, Chemical thermodynamics, Chemical equilibrium, Chemical kinetics, Surface chemistry, Redox reactions, Electrochemistry, s, p,d and f block elements, Organic Chemistry.

Mathematics

Algebra, Relations and Functions, Complex numbers, Quadratic equations, Sequence and series, Permutation and combination, Mathematical induction, Mathematical logic, Boolean algebra, Trigonometry, Coordinate geometry, Circles, 3D geometry, Calculus, Differentiation, Application of derivatives, Indefinite Integrals, Definite integral, Differential equations, Elementary dynamics, probability.
