CA CPT Exam Pattern and Details

CA CPT- Chartered Accountancy Common Proficiency Test is a first level examination to become CA. The concerned authority of Chartered Accountancy is the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). The aspirants can apply even in 10th grade, however they can only take the examination after completing 12th grade. CPT examination is held twice a year, in June and December. Usually, the results are out after a month of examination, that is, July and December. The examination has objective type questions, which is divided into two sections: Accountancy+Mercantile Law; Economics+Quantitative Aptitude. There is 0.25 negative marking. To clear this examination, candidates are required to score minimum 30% in each section, with 50% in aggregate of all four sections. With the law amendment in 2012, students having scored 55% in commerce and 60% in other subjects in graduation are exempted for this level and are allowed to directly apply for IPCC level. Being the most common field of career, CPT has a level too moderate yet not easy to be cleared without thorough study. Thus, candidates are advised to attempt previous year question papers and mock tests to practice well.
