CBSE Class 11 Exam Pattern



CBSE conducts examinations in class 11 in streams like Commerce, Arts and Science. There are different subjects in all of these streams. English is the common compulsory language for all the streams. However, Science stream has subjects as Physics and Chemistry, with either Maths or Biology as the third main subject. For the fifth subject, one can choose between Computer Science, Engineering Drawing or Physical Education depending upon the course availabiliity of the school. In the Commerce stream, one has Accountancy, Economics and Business Studies as compulsion with Maths as optional in consideration of Physical Education in place of it. In the Arts stream, there are subjects as History, Geography, Poitical Science and Physical Education or Psychology as optional fifth subject. Students are offered these streams as per their 9-10th class aggregate scores. Thus, students are required to practice online papers and mock tests to prepare well for 10th board exams to get through their wishful stream. Students are also provided with the practice papers to score higher in these Class 11 tough exams.

Exam Pattern

  • There is one half yearly examinations conducted and one mains exam, basically twice a year.
  • There are 20 marks internals in each semester and 80 marks final examination.
  • The internal examinations includes projects, assignments and internal assessments.
  • The final exams of 80 marks are held for the duration of 3 hours.
