Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) is a state-level public entrance test for Agriculture and Medical as well engineering colleges in Andra Pradesh and Telangana, India offering UG courses like B.Tech, B.Pharm, BDS, BSc, B.E and much more. EAMCET is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) with the support of Andra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE). The Eligibility Standards to appear for EAMCET is that the person should belong to Andra Pradesh according to Andra Pradesh Education Institution Order, 1974. The candidate must have scored a minimum of 45% in Higher Secondary School while 40% for a reserved category student to meet the criteria to apply for EAMCET with Mathematics and Physics as the main subjects and Bio-Technology or Chemistry or Biology as the optional subjects. The age limit is between 17 to 22 years for all candidates while for SC/ST the maximum age limit is 25 years.

AP EAMCET Important Dates:

AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agricultural Medical Common Entrance Test) will be an online computer-based test with 160 Objective Questions in the exam. The dates for the AP EAMCET for the admission in Engineering and Agricultural programme are mentioned here:

  • The application forms have begun from February 29, 2020.

  • The last date to submit the AP EAMCET application without paying the late fee is June 15, 2020.

  • The last date to submit the AP EAMCET application after paying the late fee of Rs. 500 is June 30, 2020.

  • The correction window for the AP EAMCET Application form will be available from July 04 – July 07, 2020.

  • The date for the submission of the AP EAMCET with 1000 as the late fee is July 09, 2020.

  • The last date with the late fees of Rs. 5000 is July 17, 2020.

  • The hall tickets can be downloaded from July 20, 2020 onwards from the official website.

  • AP EAMCET Engineering Examination: July 27 - 30, 2020 from 10 AM to 1 PM and 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM.

  • AP EAMCET Agriculture Examination: July 30 – 31, 2020 from 10 AM to 1 PM and 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM.

  • The answer key for both the streams will be released on August 01, 2020.

  • The results will be declared once the objections in the answer keys will be answered.

 

AP EAMCET Eligibility Criteria:

The aspirants who are willing to take admission through the gateway of AP EAMCET should be the domicile of Andhra Pradesh or Telangana, other applicants around the nation will not be considered for the admission. The aspirants must check the eligibility criteria before applying for AP EAMCET as after appearing for the entrance examination if the aspirant clears the examination, the admission process can not be commenced afterwards as the candidate won't be able to meet the eligibility criteria.

  • The candidate must have scored a minimum of 45% in Higher Secondary School while 40% for a reserved category is the minimum educational qualification required to apply for AP EAMCET.

  • The aspirants must have studied Mathematics and Physics as the main subjects and Bio-Technology or Chemistry or Biology as the optional subjects from the Andhra Pradesh/Telangana recognized board.

  • The aspirant must be in the age of 17 to 22 years while for SC/ST category the maximum age limit is 25 years.

AP EAMCET Exam Pattern:

AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agricultural Medical Common Entrance Test) is an online computer-based test with a time duration of 3 hours. The entrance test will be conducted in English and Telugu, English, and Urdu. The online entrance test will have 160 MCQs that will be asked from the 3 subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology. The correct answer will give the aspirant 1 mark and there is no provision for the negative marking.

JNTUK (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada) conducts the AP EAMCET on behalf of APSCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education) that offer admission to the applicants to the desired engineering, agriculture, and pharmacy (medical science) undergraduate courses. The online entrance test will be conducted separately for the agricultural and engineering stream.

The Telangana or Andhra Pradesh applicants who have qualified 10+2 examination with a minimum of 45% marks in the science stream can apply for AP EAMCET. The online applications for the AP EAMCET have begun from February 29, 2020, and the last date to submit the application form has extended till July 17, 2020. The hall tickets will be downloaded from July 20, 2020, onwards. The exam will be conducted from July 27 - 31, 2020.

There is a provision for the candidates to have the questions translated into the Urdu language but the aspirants have to choose Kurnool center for that. The applicants will have to give the entrance test separately for the engineering and agricultural stream. If an applicant wishes to appear for both the entrance examination, Rs. 1000 is the amount that is required to be paid.

AP EAMCET Syllabus:

The subjects will be Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics from where the questions will be asked in the entrance test. The mathematics section has 80 questions where the major topics will be from 11th and 12th level. The engineering examination has the same standard as that of the National-level Engineering competitive examination. The entrance test score is accepted by 17 colleges in the state. The aspirants should prepare for the examination by practicing the previous year papers and taking a keen look over the pattern of the questions in the examination asked in the previous year papers.

  • Botany: The syllabus comprises Morphology, Reproduction in Plants, Diversity in the living world, Plant Systematic, Cell Structure and Function, Plant Ecology and Plant Physiology, Microbiology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Plants, Microbes and Human Welfare and much more.

  • Zoology: The syllabus comprises of Structural Organisation in Animals, Locomotion & Reproduction in Protozoa, Animal Diversity I & II, Human Anatomy & Physiology I & II & III & IV, Human Reproduction, Genetics, Organic Evolution, Applied Biology and Much more.

  • Physics: The syllabus comprises of Units & Measurements, Laws of Motion, Units & Measurements, Work, Energy and Power, Oscillations, Gravitation, Mechanical properties of Liquids, Waves, Thermodynamics’, Atoms, Nuclei and Much more.

  • Chemistry: The syllabus comprises of Atomic Structure, Classification of Elements & Periodicity in Properties, Chemical Bonding & Molecular Structure, and States of Matter: Gases & Liquids, Stoichiometry, Thermodynamics, Chemical Equilibrium, and Acids Bases, Hydrogen & Compounds, The block Elements S & P (Alkali & Alkaline Earth Metals and Boron & carbon Family), Environmental Chemistry, Hydrocarbons, Hydro-Chemistry, Chemical Kinetics, Metallurgy and much more.

  • For Engineering Category the syllabus is:
  • Mathematics: The Syllabus Comprises of Algebra, Trigonometry, Vector Algebra, Probability, Coordinate Geometry and Calculus.

Tips and Tricks: AP EAMCET

After each study session keeps 1 hour for revision of topics learned/practiced. Learn Chemical reactions by writing over and over.

  • Make mathematics your strong suit, practice questions to solve them within time to increase efficiency. The trick here is to mug up math formulas by heart, so they come in handy while solving a problem.

  • Become smart by attempting questions that you are sure of first, then come to the questions you’re in doubt. But don’t attempt them anyway, remember negative marking is a factor here. Therefore, only attempt a question if you really know the answer to.

  • Manage your time properly; give an appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible.
