University of Petroleum and Energy Studies was established in 2003, Uttarakhand. Every year, UPSE conducts University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Engineering Test (UPESEAT) for admissions in various B. Tech courses in the fields of Information Technology, Oil and Gas, Mechanical, High Technology, Health, Safety, and Environment, Power, Aerospace, Infrastructure and Electronics. The university offers various specialized courses at Undergraduate and postgraduate level. UPESEAT will be conducted at 51 locations across India for 2020. The questions asked in the entrance test are based on the class 12 syllabus including PCM (Physics, Chemistry & Math) along with English with no negative marking whatsoever. UPESEAT will be conducted in online mode on different dates. The entrance exam (Computer-based test) is scheduled on July 8 to 12, 2020. The duration of Exam will be of 2 hours. The last date to fill the online application is June 30, 2020.

Eligibility Criteria of UPESEAT:

Minimum qualification for appearing in UPESEAT exam is that aspirants should have 

  • Candidates are required to secure a minimum of 50% marks at Higher & Senior Secondary level (10th& 12th)

  • They are also required to secure minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics at Senior Secondary level (12th).

There will be 4 sections in the exam; (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English Language Comprehension). Math, Physics and Chemistry sections will have 35 question each for one mark each, where as English section will have 20 questions.

Preparation Tips of UPESEAT:

• You need speed to finish UPESEAT within the prescribed time limit. Go through the topics in the syllabus and start with the ones that you are good at. Practice mathematics problems by memorizing formulas to become faster. Same with Physics and Chemistry, learn chemical equations by writing over and over.

•             Make mathematics your strong suit, practice questions to solve them within time to increase efficiency. The trick here is to mug up math formulas by heart, so they come in handy while solving a problem.

•             Become smart by attempting questions that you are sure of first, then come to the questions you’re in doubt. But do attempt them anyway, remember negative marking is not a factor here. Therefore, try to attempt all the questions.

•             Manage your time properly; give an appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible.
