A smooth retaining wall with a smooth vertical back is pushed against a soil mass having c=36 kN/m², Φ=15°, Unit weight of soil = 20 kN/m³ and the wall is 8 m high.If the horizontal soil surface carries a uniform surcharge load of 60 kN/m² then compute the total pressure acting on the wall using Rankine's theory.
