Your Answer

There are two kinds of reactive loads, either capacitive or inductive.  A reactive load is a load in which current and voltage are not in same phase. Either current is ahead of voltage or voltage is ahead of current.

A reactive load having leading power factor is called a capacitive load, while a reactive load having  lagging power factor is called an inductive load. Some examples of inductive loads are motors, mixers, fans etc.

While there are certain kinds of load in which current and voltage are proportional to each other such loads are called resistive loads, example a resistor, wire etc.
