Due to current present in armature, a magnetic field is produced. This magnetic field is called Armature field flux. This flux interact with main flux in three ways. Either Magnetization or De-magnetization or Cross-magnetization. Each case has different effect on main flux. This whole reaction is called Armature Reaction. Or in simple words as Prabhat told, Armature reaction is the effect of armature field flux on main field flux.
