Conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the renowned JEE Main  exam is a gateway for admission into various engineering colleges across the country. Those seeking admission in B.E or B.Tech courses will have to appear in the paper-1, while students aspiring seats in architecture courses vizB. Arch/ B.Planning need to appear in the paper-2. The Paper 1 can be attempted both offline and online mode, while Paper 2 can be only given through offline mode. 
The JEE Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) looks after the seat allocation in 31 NITs, 18 IIITs and other participating institutions of JEE Main.
