IBPS PO Prelims exam
The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection it is a government undertaking which recruits banking staff for our country. This placement drive is conducted every year. There are around 4200(42 hundred) vacancies. The application of this exam out in July. This exam is held in three parts first the prelims second the mains exam after that we have our interview. The prelims exam is held in the month of October and the mains exam is held in the month of November.
 
Eligibility:
The nationality of the candidate must be Indian or must hold the documents issued by the Indian government.
The minimum age of the candidate should be 20 years and maximum age of the candidate should be 30 years.
Must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a government recognized university.
 
Application fee:
Rs. 100/- (for SC/ST/PWD candidates)
Rs. 600 /- (for all others)
 
A number of attempts for each category are:
SC/ST - 5 years
OBC- 3 years
Ex-Servicemen/ Disabled Ex-Servicemen – 5 years
Benchmark Disabled persons - 10 years
Persons domiciled in J&K during - 5 years
Persons affected by 1984 riots - 5 years
 
The selection process includes three stages
First, we have our prelims exam. Second, we have our mains exam. After the mains exam, those who pass the mains exam have their interview. There are certain qualification marks for each category to qualify in mains exam.
 
EXAM PATTERN:
These are the syllabus for the exam:
Reasoning, quantitative aptitude, English language, general awareness, and computer aptitude.
In the prelims exam, we have 100 questions of 100 marks and the total time allocated 60 minutes. There will be 3 sections. 20 mins for each section.
Mains paper:
There will be 155 questions with total marks 200 and the total time allocated for mains paper is 180 minutes.
There will be 0.25 will be deducted for every wrong answer.
The general category needs 40% in mains paper to qualify in the interview. And for SC/STOBC/PWD category candidates need 35% to qualify in interview round.

Tips and Tricks:
 
1.         As there is negative marking you need to work smartly. Attempt those questions first of which you are sure of then attempt those you are in doubt. Attempt wisely.
2.         Read the newspaper so that so get general knowledge which can help you an interview.
3.         Don’t mug up the whole syllabus.
4.         Also, don’t forget to do the prep test which will help you in knowing your strength and weakness.
5.         Make you don’t hesitate while attempting the question.
6.         Score well on prelims so that you qualify in mains and then in the interview.
