Why the current flowing through the conductor(AC current)changes it's direction
Alternating current is produced by an AC Generator(Alternator).
The Orientation of the Rotor windings with respect to the Stator field in the Alternator gives rise to the sinusoidal voltage (which has changing polarity), and reaches a positive and negative peak, and hence the alternating current is produced, whose frequency is related to Speed of rotation of the rotor, as well as the no. of poles in the machine.
