SSC JHT Recruitment 2020: Eligibility Criteria

The candidates applying for the recruitment of Junior Hindi Translator post conducted by SSC should go through the eligibility criteria.

• Nationality / Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India

• Age of the candidate: Maximum Age: 30 years

• Age relaxation:

• Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe - 5 years

• Other Backward Classes- 3 years

• Physically Handicapped (PH)- 10 years

• Physically Handicapped (PH)+OBC- 13 years

• Physically Handicapped (PH)+SC/ST- 15 years

• Ex-Servicemen- 3 years

• Domiciled in J&K during 1st Jan 1980 to 31st Dec 1989- 5 years

• Defence Personnel Disabled- 3 years

• Defence Personnel Disabled+SC/ST- 8 years

• Educational Qualification:

The candidate needs to be a postgraduate with English and Hindi as compulsory from a recognised university/institution.

SSC JHT Recruitment: Exam pattern 

As SSC Junior Hindi Translator Recruitment Exam will be conducted in two parts: Paper 1 and Paper 2, the exam pattern for both papers is different. Paper 1 is Computer-Based Test and Paper 2 is Written Test.

• Paper 1 Exam Pattern:

• Online test (CBT), i.e., Paper 1 will be of 200 marks.

• The exam will have 200 MCQs type questions.

• The total duration of the exam will be 120 minutes.

• Sections in the exam: Two

  • General Hindi for 100 marks.

  • General English for 100 marks.

• ​​Marking scheme: 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer and 1 mark will be allotted for each right. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no penalty for that question.

• Paper 2 Exam Pattern:

• ​Subjective Paper, i.e., Paper 2 will be of 200 marks.

• The total duration of the exam will be 120 minutes

• Sections in the exam: Two

  • Translation.

  • Essay.

Preparation tips for SSC JHT Recruitment Online Exam

• You need to finish two sections of the SSC JHT Exam within 120 minutes, which means you need speed with accuracy in order to attempt 200 questions in total. The more you practice, the better chances you have of acing this exam.

• Remember negative marking is a factor here. Therefore, try not to attempt questions that put you in doubt.

• Manage your time properly; give an appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible. • Studying in a stretch for hours can be tedious and hard and also not so good. Therefore, try to study several times in regular sessions during a day. This will make learning easy and fun, also you will have enough time to brush up the already studied topics in between intervals.

• It is very important to maintain proper health, so you don’t fall sick on the big day. Give your brain an appropriate time to refresh itself. Don’t rush too much information into your head than its limit allows. Take it slow and steady. And get at least eight hours of sleep each night.
