TSICET: Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

For admission into MBA and MCA courses, revised stipulating 50% (45% for reserved categories) of marks at the qualifying examination. Qualifying marks are 25% and no minimum marks are prescribed for SC/ST candidates

Age Limit:

The age limit is 18 years and upper age limit has no bars of years.

TSICET: Exam Pattern

Type: Computer Based test (Online Mode)

Duration: The duration of the TSICET exam will be of 150 minutes.

No. of Questions: 200 Objective type questions.

Syllabus Covered: The Syllabus includes 3 sections that are :

• Analytical Ability- 75 questions and 75 marks

• Mathematical Ability- 75 questions and 75 marks

• Communication Ability- 50 questions and 50 marks

Marking Scheme: Total 200 marks in which 1 mark will be awarded for every correct answer.

Analytical Ability:

Data Sufficiency

Problem Solving-

a) Sequences and Series: Analogies of numbers and alphabet, completion of blank spaces following the pattern in a: b: c: d relationship; odd thing out: missing number in a sequence or a series.

b) Data Analysis: The data given in a Table, Graph, Bar diagram, Pie Chart, Venn Diagram or a Passage is to be analyzed and the questions pertaining to the data are to be answered.

c) Coding and Decoding Problems: A code pattern of English Alphabet is given. A given word or a group of letters are to be coded or decoded based on the given code or codes.

d) Date, Time & Arrangement Problems: Calendar problems, clock problems, blood relationships, arrivals, departures and schedules, seating arrangements, symbol and notation interpretation.

Mathematical Ability:

Arithmetical Ability- Laws of indices, ratio and proportion; surds; numbers and divisibility, l.c.m. and g.c.d; Rational numbers, Ordering; Percentages; Profit and loss; Partnership, Pipes and cisterns, time, distance and work problems, areas and volumes, mensuration, modular arithmetic.

Algebraical and Geometrical Ability- Statements, Truth tables, implication converse and inverse, Tautologies-Sets, Relations and functions, applications - Equation of a line in different forms. Trigonometry - Trigonometric ratios, Trigonometric ratios of standard angles, (0°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 90°, 180°): Trigonometric identities: sample problems on heights and distances, Polynomials; Remainder theorem and consequences; Linear equations and expressions; Progressions, Binomial Theorem, Matrices, Notion of a limit and derivative; Plane geometry - lines, Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Circles, Coordinate geometry-distance between points.

Statistical Ability- Frequency distributions, Mean, Median, Mode, Standard Deviation, Correlation, simple problems on Probability.

TSICET: Tips and Tricks

• Become smart by attempting questions that you are sure of first, then come to the questions you’re in doubt. But don’t attempt them anyway, remember negative marking is a factor here. Therefore, only attempt a question if you really know the answer to.

• Manage your time properly; give appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practicing as many online tests as possible. Youth4work provides online mock tests will time limit attached to each question; this way one can learn to finish the entire exam within the time limit.

• Studying in a stretch for hours can be tedious and hard and also not so good. Therefore, try to study at several times in regular sessions during a day. This will make learning easy and fun, also you will have enough time to brush up the already studied topics in between intervals.

• It is very important to maintain proper health, so you don’t fall sick on the big day. Give your brain appropriate time to refresh itself. Don’t rush too much information into your head than its limit allows. Take it slow and steady. And get at least eight hours of sleep each night
