yes. shells are subjected to internal pressure shows hoop stress as well as longitudinal stress. compaire this two axial stress condition with elemental area of shell in which two side of body subjected to axial force. so any section in between them are subjected to normal as well as shear stress.

No. Because in the spherical cell gas and liquid is filled. And inside pressure work as hydrostatic pressure. And hydrostatic pressure is always normal( perpendicular) to the plane so there is not any shear stress.
