1. IBPS Clerk Important Dates

• The notification for the IBPS Clerk was published on 01 September 2020

• The exam is held every year to recruit clerks for the attached banks

​IBPS Clerk Registration Period

• The online registration (Application form) was initiated from 02 September 2020

• Application form (Registration) was closed from 06 November 2020

• Registration was restarted from 23 October 2020

• Prelims exam will be conducted on 05 and 12 December 2020

• Prelims result will be declared on 31 December 2020

3. IBPS Clerk Eligibility

Nationality

• The applicant must be a citizen of India OR

• A subject of Nepal/ Bhutan/ Tibetan Refugee settled in India before 1962 OR

• The persons migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries, Zaire, Vietnam

• The NRI candidates are not eligible

IBPS Clerk Age Limit

• The minimum age limit is 20 years as on 01 September 2020

• The maximum age limit is 28 years as on 01 September 2020

• The candidate should not be born before 02 September 1992 and after 01 September 2000

• Age Relaxation

  • General: No age relaxation

  • ​OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 03 Years

  • SC/ST/ Ex-Servicemen/Commissioned officers/Persons domiciled in J&K from January 1980 to December 1989, Persons affected by 1984 riots: 05 Years

  • Widows, Divorced Women, Women legally separated from their husband and not remarried: 09 Years

  • Persons with disabilities: 10 Years

IBPS Clerk Educational Qualification

• Minimum graduation degree from a recognized university to be eligible

• IBPS does not require any minimum percentage in graduation but the banks require.

• The IBPS releases the information of the mandatory eligibility criteria on the official site in the notification

• The aspirants should read the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the exam to avoid circumstances

• The main factor of change in eligibility is the age limit because the period in which DOB should lie is changed by the IBPS every year

4. IBPS Clerk Application Form

Application Form Filling Process (Registration Process)

• The candidates are advised to fill the application form carefully and they should recheck the details filled by them before final submission

• There is no provision of the correction window

• If the candidate has made mistake in application form filling, he can apply again by filing a new application form

5. IBPS Clerk Prelims Admit Card

• Candidates can download the admit card from the official site of IBPS only

• Admit card will be available to download before minimum 10 days of the exam

• The candidates should print the admit card on a white blank paper

• The text and information printed on the admit card should be clearly visible

• The candidates are advised to save a copy of the admit card for future use

• The candidates should have clear information about the exam pattern and marking process before attempting the real exam. They are advised to make a wise strategy to acquire more marks than the cutoff

• The admit card will be available to download till the exam

• Adress and photograph of identity proof should be matched to the uploaded records

Steps to download IBPS Clerk Prelims Admit card

• The IBPS provide a link on its official site to download the admit cards

• Fill the credentials like registration number, roll number, password, date of birth, etc

• After filling the credentials, they will reach on the admit card

• Now they can print or download the admit card

• The candidates are advised to follow all the instructions printed on the admit card

6. IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern

  • 4. General/ Financial Awareness: 50 questions in 35 minutes (50 marks total)

7. IBPS Clerk Marking Scheme

• The marking process is similar in both exams except Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude Section of the mains exam

• 1 mark will be awarded for each correct answer, 60 marks available for 50 questions of Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude Section of the mains exam

• 1/4 of the allotted mark of a question will be deducted for each wrong answer

• There is no negative mark or inclusive mark for unattempted questions

• The exam will be conducted online, so marking two answers of a question is not possible in CBT

• Negative marking not only prevents to gain mark but also shorten score by penalty

• The candidates are suggested to mark the answers with accuracy to lessen the impact of negative marking

• The four wrong answers mark deduction value is equal to the one right answer mark gaining value

English Language: 

• Reading Comprehension, Spotting Error, Fill in the Blanks, Cloze Test, Homonyms (Words with similar spelling but different meaning), Synonyms, Antonyms, Para-jumbles, Phrases/Idioms, Voices – Active & Passive, Speech – Direct & Indirect.

Reasoning:

• Verbal Reasoning: Analogy, Classification, Word formation, Statement and conclusions, Syllogism, Statement and assumptions, Statement and arguments, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Passage and conclusions, Alphabet test, Series Test, Number, Ranking and time sequence, Direction sense Test, Decision-making test, Figure series, Input/output, Assertion, and reasoning, Sitting Arrangement
• Non-Verbal Reasoning: Series test, Odd figure Out, Analogy, Miscellaneous Test etc.

Math/Numerical Ability: 

• Ratio and proportion, Averages, Time and Work, Speed, Distance and time, Mixture and allegation, Stocks and shares, Percentages, Partnership, Clocks, Volume and Surface Area, Height and Distances, Logarithms, Permutation and combinations, Simple and compound interest, Equations, Probability, Trigonometry, Profit, Loss and Discount, Mensuration, Elements of Algebra, Data Interpretation, Pie charts, Tables, Bar & Graphs, Line charts.

9. How to prepare for IBPS Clerk Exam
