Tips for simplification:-search for 18's,9's,11''s trick, find tricks to calculate square root and cube root,learn general mathematical formula.
Tips for solving puzzles:-play logical games such as sudoku it will faster your speed of thinking.

first of all done basic calculation....rules ...then practice a lot of simplificatiin question....and for puzzles ....practice as much as poosible
