Hlo Sanchit,here is some useful information about SSC Stenographer
SSC (Staff Selection Commission) conducts a national level exam every year for recruiting skilled candidates for the post of Stenographer- a kind of shorthand typewriter. It is an online test. One can register for the exam by paying an application fees of Rs . 100 if you are a general or OBC candidate. Candidates belonging to SC/ST, PH and female can register for free.
Today, we at YOUTH4WORK would like to share the important aspects pertaining to the exam.
Eligibility Criteria
· Nationality: A candidate needs to be a citizen of India or Nepal or Bhutan
· A tibetan Refugee who came India before 1 January, 1962 can also fill this form
· a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania ,Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible.
· Age limit: One must have a minimum of 18 years of age and maximum 27 years of age
· Educational Qualification: One must have cleared class 12th from recognized board.
Exam Pattern
· It is an online exam
· It is held in two phases: Written test and skill test
· Candidates who clears the written test are only eligible for skill test.
· A candidate has to attempt 200 objective type questions in 120 minutes in the written exam. For Handicapped people, extra 40 minutes are provided to complete the exam.
· The subjects covered are as follows: General Awareness, General Intelligence and Reasoning, English language and Comprehension.
· Marking Scheme: 1 mark is awarded for each correct answer and there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
· Skill test is a kind of typing test.
Tips and Tricks
· One should have a practice of regularly reading newspaper to keep himself / herself updated with current affairs. This will help in securing marks in General Awareness Section.
· To be successful in English section, one must be prepared with topics like spotting errors, comprehension, Synonyms and Antonyms, Idioms etc.
· Revision is the key to success. One must revise what he / she has studied before going for exam.
· Practice as much mock tests as you can. They will increase your perfection and will help you to attempt your exam on time.
