Banaras Hindu University established in 1916 in VARANASI as the public college for the spreading of technology and science with the study of Indian religion and Principles. It has more than 30000 students coming from 48 countries, residing making it the largest residential college in ASIA. BHU is organised into 6 institutes and 14 faculties (streams) and about 140 departments with 75 hostels for students. Faculty of LAW was one of the first faculties in BHU. The BHU LAW University has 4 institutions with 15 faculties and 30000 students. According to Outlook, “Top 25 Law Colleges in 2017, BHU was at 8th Rank and on 7th rank by The Week’s “Top Law Colleges 2017”. The Minimum Education Qualification is Graduation with 50% aggregate marks from a recognised university. The maximum age limit should not be more than 30 years for General Category but for SC/ST Category it is 35 years. BHU LLB Eligibility Criteria

Aspirants of BHU LLB 2019 need to understand the eligibility criteria before proceeding to fill the application form.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. The degree needs to be obtained from any recognized Institute or a University.
  • A minimum of 50 per cent marks in aggregate of all subjects in the qualifying degree examination is a must.
  • There is no age bar to appear in the law examination.

 

Exam Pattern:

The BHU LAW ENTRANCE TEST exam is an offline mode exam of consists of 150 Multiple choice Questions carrying 3 marks for each correct answer i.e. 450 marks with the time limit of 2 hours:

  • General Studies: It will comprise of 50 questions like Indian Heritage and culture, History, Geography of the world and India, Government, constitution, Indian Polity, Social Justice, International Relations, Technology, Bio – Diversity, Environment, Disaster Management, Economic Development and much more.
  • Current Affairs: It will comprise of topics like what’s happening in the country and world, latest news and all.
  • Mental Ability: It will comprise of topics like problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts and more.
  • General English: It will comprise of topics like grammar, verb, noun, proverb, sentence structuring, and more.
  • Legal Aptitude: It will comprise of topics like Indian Constitution, IPC, Family, Indian Contract Act, labour law and much more.

Note:  The cut-off will be based upon the merit list which will vary on the basis of category (SC/ ST/OBC/Gen)
