what is IIFT? please explain in a simplified manner.

IIFT EXAM
Hi, I am Siddhartha Sarin and we Youth4Work present this video with the intention of bringing you information on IIFT which stands for Indian Institute for Foreign Trade.
·         IIFT is a national-level management entrance exam conducted annually by Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, New Delhi, for admission to its MBA (IB) program
·          IIFT Delhi offers around 600 seats at its Delhi and Kolkata campus.
 
 
ELIGIBILITY -- Let us take a sneak peek into the eligibility criteria for IIFT exam.
 
·         General category candidates with a minimum 3-year graduation degree in any discipline with 50% marks from a recognized university/institute/college are eligible to apply.
·          SC, ST and PWD category candidates with minimum 45% marks in graduation are eligible to apply.
·           Final year graduation students can also apply.
·          Candidates of any age can apply for the IIFT entrance exam.
EXAM PATTERN-– As this exam is tricky we at youth4work would like to share the pattern that has come to be associated with these exams.
 
·         Total time: 2 hours
·         Total questions: Not fixed but you can expect anything from 110 to 125
·         Total marks: 100
·         Number of sections: 6
·         SECTION 1:  English Grammar(20 questions)(20 marks)
·         SECTION 2: Vocabulary and Comprehension(20 questions)(20 marks)
·         SECTION 3:  General Knowledge and Current Affairs (20 questions)(20 marks)
·         SECTION 4: Logical Reasoning (18 questions)(9 marks)
·         SECTION 5: Data Interpretation (16 questions)(16 marks)
·         SECTION 6: Quantitative Analysis(20 questions)(15 marks)
·         Exam mode: offline/ handwritten
·         Exam medium: English
·          Going by the question paper of 2019, the marking scheme for IIFT 2019 entrance exam was different for each section. For instance, this year, in the Data Interpretation section, each question carried 1 mark, while in the verbal ability, each question was assigned 0.5 marks. Whereas, negative marking scheme for each wrong response will suffer 1/3rd of the allotted marks.
 
 
 
SYLLABUS- The syllabus allocated to undertake this exam is as follows.
1.      English grammar
·          This section covers Verbal Ability. The topics covered in these sections are Grammar, Preposition, Phrases, Analogy, Matching word meanings.
2.      Vocabulary and Comprehension
·         This section covers topics such as spelling, missing out the word, figures of speech and reading comprehensions
3.      General Knowledge and Current Affairs
·         It covers topics such as Politics, Society, Economics, History, Awards and awardees, International Affairs, etc
4.      Logical Reasoning
·         It includes topics such as Comparisons, Coding-Decoding, Input & Output, Seating, Linear word formation, Selections, etc
 
 
5.      Data Interpretation 
·         It covers topics such as Bar Graph, Pie Chart, Caselets, Table, Line Graph
 
6.      Quantitative Analysis
·         It covers topics such as Number, Mensuration, ERPV, SI and CI, Probability, Time, Distance, etc
 
 
 
TIPS & TRICKS
The position allocated after completing this course is really prestigious. So the criteria for judging candidates becomes all the more important. For that very reason, we at Youth4Work have come up with a few tricks of the trade to allow you to tackle questions required to judge the caliber of candidates.
 
1.      First and foremost, brush up on your English grammar as the questions more often than not lead you into making mistakes.
2.      Secondly, refer to newspapers and panel discussions on tv to gain insight into current affairs both on the domestic front as well as globally
3.      Thirdly, practice as much as possible to tackle questions requiring logical reasoning.
4.      Lastly, take as many mock tests as possible. One suggestion is to refer to our application designed for this very purpose called a PREP GURU.
