What will happen if xylem is placed in pure water
1 it swells up and behave like fountain 2 it shrinks and its wall collapse 3 it bursts like RBC, when placed in water 4 nothing happen at all

4 will be the answer as it can be taken s ....it transports water in plant and also suberised.. so water cant affect it0Modal content

I know that if a plant cell is kept in distilled or pure water endo osmosis occurs but there is no change in size of the cell due to the rigid cell wall I feel the same will go for xylem0Modal content
