a boy swins in a 100 m long pool he covers 60 m with a velocity of 20m/s and covers the rest of the distance with the velocity of 10m/s. calculate the average velocity of the boy.

answer me with solutions. i got 14.2 m/s

  • AV=T.displacement/t.time total displace.=100m T.time=60/20+40/10=7sec putting in formula 14.3m/s and is obtained.


  •  60m * 1s/20m = 3 seconds br /40m * 1s/10m = 4 seconds br /br /100m/7s = average velocity = 14.28571 m/s and I would round it to 14.3 m/s
