AMCAT (Aspiring Minds Computer Adaptive Test) is an adaptive test to assess a few imperative skills required for the application in IT and Non-IT companies. It tests a person's reasoning, technical and aptitude skills. It is a platform to assess these skills by giving a score to describe its ability and suitability for the job position. AMCAT Eligibility Criteria:
AMCAT exam comprises of 4 mandatory modules (English Language and Aptitude) and two optional modules. AMCAT comprises of 3 kinds of modules:
English Language and Aptitude (Compulsory) - English Language, Quantitative Ability, Logical ability.
Personality (Compulsory) - AMCAT Personality Inventory.
Skill specific Modules (Optional) - Domain or intrigue related modules like Computer programming for CS/IT candidates. Hardware and Semiconductor for ECE candidates, Finance, and Marketing for MBA students.
The candidates will have to select any two domain (skill) specific modules. Whatever is the choice of the module, it paves the way for the company's visibility. The compulsory and optional modules of AMCAT have been elaborated here, the duration of the exam can vary:
1. English Language:
It tests the spoken word, writing ability, and communication ability through the candidate's written text. This module is mandatory for all the Job Profiles such as HR, Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Hotel Management, Content Development, etc. The candidate will have to solve 18 questions; the module duration is 18 minutes.
2. Logical Ability:
It tests the candidate's ability to perceive, interpret trends, and conclude out of the set of situations. This module is mandatory for all the Job Profiles such as HR, BPO, Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Hotel Management, Content Development, etc. The candidate will have to solve 12 questions; the module duration is 15 minutes.
3. Quantitative Ability:
It tests the candidate's ability to evaluate numerical capacity. This module is mandatory for all the Job Profiles such as HR, BPO, Marketing, Engineering, Sales, Hotel Management, Content Development, etc. The candidate will have to solve 16 Quantitative Ability Tech questions, and the module duration is 20 Minutes.
4. Information Gathering and Synthesis:
It tests the ability to find appropriate information, order and classify data, evaluate graphs, charts and tables and perform rule-based deductions. The data could be presented in text, numbers, tables, figures, or any other format. The candidate will have to solve 12 questions; the module duration is 15 minutes.
5. Aspiring Minds Personality Inventory (AMPI):
The module tests the overall personality assessment of the candidate and evaluates candidates in people-interaction and people-management roles. The candidate will have to solve 90 questions; the module duration is 15 minutes.

Is there any negative marking in AMCAT? This question revolves around all the time before appearing for the examination. AMCAT has no negative marking; there is no deduction for the wrong answers to the candidate mark in AMCAT. Yet the wrong answers will cost the candidate much, the level of difficulty will set according to the marks you obtain at AMCAT.
