Admission process of MSc Biotechnology in JNU:
The JNUCEEB exam was conducted to offer admission in the JNU, GAT-B rank will ensure admission. The JNUCEEB exam has been replaced by GAT-B (Graduate Aptitude Test of Biotechnology) which will be held by the Regional Center of Biotechnology on account of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.
► GAT-B rank will be an entry ticket for admission in JNU MSc Biotechnology. The applicants wishing to take admission are required to apply online on the official site of RCB(regional center of biotechnology).
► The application process will begin from June 01, 2020, (from 10 AM onwards), and lasts till June 18, 2020 (till 11.59 AM). The candidates are advised to fill the application form soon and do not wait for the last date.
► GAT-B exam admits cards will be available from June 25, 2020, and the exam will commence on June 30, 2020. JNUCEEB (GAT-B) is an online exam to be attempted in the time duration of 3 hours.
► The General / OBC category applicants are required to pay Rs. 1000 and SC / ST category applicants will have to pay Rs. 500 as the application fee for GAT-B. The fees is non-refundable, once the application fee will be paid it won't be refunded. The applicants should need to check the eligibility criteria to avoid the discrepancy at the time of admission.
► JNU MSc Biotechnology Eligibility:
The applicants with 55% aggregate in Graduation (BSc Physical, Biological, Agricultural, Veterinary, and Fishery Sciences, Pharmacy, BTech, 4-years BSc (Physician Assistant Course), medicine (MBBS) or BDS can apply for the postgraduate course in biotechnology to be eligible for the JNUCEEB (GAT-B).
► The GAT-B exam will be a computer-based test and will be conducted in the English medium. The exam will be categorized in two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A will have 60 questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology subject. Part B will have 100 questions from which applicants will attempt only 60 questions.
► All candidates validated under the DBT-supported programmes of any participating college or institution will be awarded the stipend per month:
• M.Sc. in Biotechnology & Allied Areas - Rs. 5000
• M.Sc. in Agricultural Biotechnology - Rs. 7500
• M.Tech./M.V.Sc. programmes - Rs. 12000
