strongLight Emitting Diodes/strong.br /It is a semiconductor device that emits visible light when an electric current passes through it. The light is not particularly bright, but in most LEDs it is monochromatic, occurring at a single wavelength.br /LEDs are comprised of strongcompound semiconductor materials/strong, which are made up of elements from group III and group V of the periodic table (these are known as III-V materials). Examples of III-V materials commonly used to make LEDs are stronggallium arsenide/strong (strongGaAs/strong) and stronggallium phosphide/strong (GaP).

It stand for LIGHT EMMITING DIODE (LED). It's a semiconductor. Basically, It's a diode but it's working is different than diode. It emits light and the color of it depend on the material that used to make it. It has to parts one is the positive (anod)and the other one is negative(cathod). when we flow current from it's +ve side led right is turned on but if we reverse the flow of current it doesn't current on.
