1. MPPSC Exam Important Dates

  • The notification for the MPPSC Exam was published on 29 December 2020

  • The exam is held to recruit officers

​MPPSC Exam Registration Period

  • The online registration (Application form submission) is started from 11 January 2021

  • The application form (Registration) will be closed from 10 February 2021

  • Last date of Fee Submission: 10 February 2021

 

  • MPPSC prelims admit card will be released on April 2021

  • Prelims exam will be conducted on 11 April 2021

  • Prelims result date is to be announced

  • Admit card for mains will be released before 10-15 days of the mains exam

  • The mains exam will be conducted after the prelims exam

  • Result declaration date of mains exam is not announced yet

2. MPPSC Selection Process

MPPSC has set a three-part selection procedure; the first part is the prelim exam, the second part is the main exam which will be followed by the Personality Test in the third part. Aspirants who qualify the prelim round will be allowed to appear for the mains exam and then the candidates shortlisted after mains will be called for the final stage, that is, the interview.

The salaries will range from Rs. 9300/ to 34800/- and Rs. 15,600/ to 39,100/-, as per the norms, rules/guidelines laid out by MPPSC.

3. MPPSC Exam Eligibility

Nationality

  • The applicant must be a citizen of India

  • The NRI candidates are not eligible

MPPSC Exam Age Limit

  • The minimum age limit is 21 years

  • The maximum age limit is:

    • For Domiciles of MP: 35 years

    • For Other Candidates: 30 years

  • The age relaxation varies according to the category

    • General: No age relaxation

    • ​OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 05 Years

    • SC/ST: 05 Years

    • Persons with disabilities: 05 Years

    • Persons from Defence Services: 03 Years

MPPSC Exam Educational Qualification

  • Minimum bachelors degree from a recognized university

 

  • The MPPSC releases the information of the mandatory eligibility criteria on the official site in the notification

  • The aspirants should read the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the exam to avoid circumstances

  • The main factor of change in eligibility is the age limit because the period in which DOB should lie changes with time

4. MPPSC Application Form

  • The candidates will apply on the official site

  • The MPPSC invites application form to the candidates for filling the vacancies of officers

  • The MPPSC releases notification on the official site to fill the application form

  • This notification contains the information of registration period, required documents, vacancies, exam date, relevant eligibility conditions, etc

  • The application form filling will be started once the application form filling notification releases

  • The candidates are advised to read the eligibility criteria carefully before applying for the exam because the candidature of ineligible candidates will not be acknowledged

MPPSC Application Fee

  • GEN: INR 500/-

  • OBC/SC/ST/Other: INR 250/-

  •  The application fee (exam fee or registration fee) can be paid via net banking, mobile wallets, IMPS, Cash card, debit card, credit card, etc

MPPSC Application Form Filling Process (Registration Process)

  • The candidates are advised to fill the application form carefully and they should recheck the details filled by them before final submission

  • The application fee once submitted will not be refunded under any circumstances, so the candidates will have to make a fresh payment to pay the application fee

  • The application form will be filled in the below simple steps

    • (a). Complete Registration

    • (b). Upload Photo and Signature

    • (c). Fill Application Form

    • (d). Pay Application Fee

  • The personal information of the candidates is required like class 10/12/graduation certificate, category certificate (if applicable), etc during the form filling

  • The post, exam center preference, etc also asked on filling the application form

  • The candidate's photo and a signature will be required during the application form filling

    • Photo Size: 20-50 kb

    • Signature: 10-20 kb (Scan Copy)

  • The face and eyes should be visible on the photograph

  • The signature should be also clear. It will be matched in the future use

  • The signature should not be in capital letters

  • The candidates should read instructions carefully before application form filling

  • The candidates should note down the registration number and password for further use

  • They should print out the application form copy in a white blank paper to keep all the information with them for further use

5. MPPSC Exam Admit Card

  • Candidates can download the admit card from the official site

  • Admit card will be available to download before minimum 7-10 days of the exam

  • The candidates should print the admit card on a white blank paper

  • The text and information printed on the admit card should be visible and readable

  • The candidates are advised to save a copy of the admit card for future use

  • The candidates should have clear information about the exam pattern and marking process before attempting the real exam. They are advised to make a wise strategy to acquire more marks than the cutoff

  • The admit card will be available to download till the exam

  • Adress and photograph of identity proof should be matched to the uploaded records

  • They should also carry two passport size photograph matches to the uploaded one

Steps to download MPPSC Exam Admit card

  • The MPPSC provides a link on its official site to download the admit cards

  • Fill the credentials like registration number, roll number, password, date of birth, etc

  • Mostly these credentials are available on the printed copy of the application form

  • After filling the credentials, they will reach on the admit card

  • Now they can print or download the admit card

  • In case of forgetting the password, they can use the forget password option. The login information will be sent on the registered mobile number or mail

  • Roll Number

  • Name and address of the candidate

  • Registration number of the candidate

  • The venue of the examination center

  • Date and time of the examination

  • Date of Birth and Category

  • Gender and Signature of the candidate

  • Candidate's photograph and a blank space to affix the candidate's photograph matching to the uploaded one

  • Boxes containing space for signature and thumb impression of the candidate

MPPSC Exam Day Instructions

  • The candidates are advised to follow all the instructions printed on the admit card

  • The instructions printed on the admit card should be clearly readable. Instructions make the candidate aware of attending the exam

  • Original copy and photocopy of a valid identity proof containing photograph and address is required in the examination hall

  • The candidates will be disqualified for misconduct in the examination

  • The candidate must have the same information and signature in each document

  • MPPSC will not acknowledge any change in time, date, center of the examination, etc

  • digital devices, earphones, unnecessary objects are not permitted to bring into the exam hall

  • The candidates should carry minimum 50 ml sanitizer in a transparent bottle

6. MPPSC Exam Pattern

MPPSC Preliminary Exam Pattern

  • Mode of Exam is offline.
  • Paper-I is General Studies of 2 hours for 200 Marks with 100 questions.
  • Paper-II is General Aptitude Test of 2 hours for 200 Marks with 100 questions.
  • All questions are mandatory with no negative marking criteria.
  • Question asked are MCQ types.
  • Question paper is bilingual, in Hindi and English languages.
  • Candidates need to achieve at least 40% marks in prelims to qualify for mains.
  • Minimum qualifying criteria for SC/ST/OBC and Handicapped Candidates is to secure 30% marks in prelims to qualify for mains.

MPPSC Mains Exam Pattern: Main Examination Process comprises of seven written exams that include essay-based questions.

  • Paper I is General Studies I of 3 hours for 300 Marks
  • Paper II is General Studies II of 3 hours for 300 Marks
  • Paper III is General Studies III of 3 hours for 300 Marks
  • Paper IV is General Studies IV of 3 hours for 200 Marks
  • Paper V is General Hindi of 3 hours for 200 Marks
  • Paper VI is Hindi Essay Writing of 2 hours for 100 Marks

The seventh exam is actually the interview. Each candidate needs to have secured at least 33% marks in both Prelims and Mains to be eligible for the final interview whereas reserved category candidates need to secure only 23% marks. The interview round will be of 175 marks.

7. MPPSC Exam Marking Scheme

  • 2 mark will be awarded for each correct answer

  • There is no negative marking for wrong answers

  • There is no negative mark or inclusive mark for unattempted questions

  • The exam will be conducted online, so marking two answers of a question is not possible in CBT

  • To excel in the exam, candidates should focus on accuracy in solving the questions

  • The MPPSC implements the marking scheme in the exam

  • The candidates have to clear the cutoff to be eligible for the next tier. They have to clear the overall cutoff to come on the merit list

  • We should never mark guess based answers

  • Reduce time consumption to answer the questions during the exam

9. MPPSC Exam Tips and Tricks

You need speed to finish MPPSC State Services Exam within the prescribed time limit. Go through the detailed topics listed on MPPSC official website and start with the ones that you are good at.

The prelim exam will be based on objective type questions. But the Main Exam will require candidates to write long answers in Hindi as well as in English. It is important to be selective about the study material to study smart and save time. Candidates must practise writing in Hindi and English for essay type questions. The length of descriptive type questions will be from 205 words to 1000 words, which will take time to think and write, so reading about various topics, current events will help.

  • Have a strategy/study plan regarding what to do and how to do. Also, maintain a time table and allot time for each subject chapter wise so that you can track your progress as you move forward. After each study session keeps 1 hour for revision of topics learned/practised.
  • Make Social Studies, Economics and some Culture topics your strong suit. Read newspapers every day to stay updated on the nation and international issues, current events, corporate news, economy and important announcements.
  • Become smart by attempting questions that you are sure of first, then come to the questions you’re in doubt. But attempt them anyway, remember negative marking is not a factor here. Therefore, try to attempt all the questions.
  • Manage your time properly; give an appropriate amount of time to each section. Try to improve your time by practising as many online tests as possible.
