Punjab Public Service Commission handles the recruitment of civil and management services in Punjab
The duty of PPSC will be to do the direct recruitment on the behalf of Defence, Government servants and much more, They help in the framing of recruitment rules, Advice Government on promotions and transfers from one service to another.
the eligibility criteria you should look upon before applying:
Ø Those who have passed minimum 10th standard from the well-recognized board can apply for the post.
Ø The candidate should not be less than 21 years and not more than 37 years .
Ø For the Post of Deputy Superintendent Police in the Punjab Police Service the candidate must not exceed the age limit of 28 yrs
Ø The candidate should possess a bachelor degree in any stream from a recognised university or institution
Ø The applicant should be a Citizen of India
Ø Or the Citizen of Nepal or Bhutan
Ø Or He/She should be a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the Ist January. 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India
Ø Or can be a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India Provided that the candidate other than the candidates possessing Indian nationality shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Competent Authority as notified Punjab Civil Services General and Common Conditions of Service) Rules, 1994.

The prelim Exam have two paper
· GENERAL STUDIES & CIVIL SERVICE APTTUDE TEST (CSAT)
· The GENERAL STUDIES have 100 questions of 2 marks each
· The CSAT paper have 80 questions of 2.5 marks each
· The questions are objective typw multiple choice questions
· 2 hours each is given to attempt the papers
· There is no negative marking
· The question paper will be in two language – English and Punjabi (in Gurumukhi Script) except the questions which are there to test that particular language proficiency
The pattern for PPSC Mains Exam Pattern is as follows:
· The Mains Exam is a written Test which have 7 papers which includes essay type questions
· The duration of each paper is 3 hours
· Punjabi is Compulsory for 100 Marks
· English is Compulsory for 100 Marks
· Essay (Three Essays of 50 marks each) – 150 Marks
· General Studies Paper-I of History, Geography, and Society for 250 Marks
· The General Studies Paper-II of Indian Constitution &Polity, Governance and International Relations for 250 Marks
· General Studies Paper-III of Economy, Statistics and Security issues for – 250 Marks
· General Studies Paper-IV of Science & Technology, Environment, Problem Solving and Decision Making for 250 Marks
· Interview is for 150 Marks
· The Test is for 1500 marks
· Candidates will have the option to attempt all the papers, except the language papers in the Punjabi or English
