GMAT Exam Detail, Insight & Pattern
GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is an exam conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council which began in the year 1953. It is a computer based exam which tests candidates' skills in standard written English in four sections: Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal. GMAT is an exam for those aspirants of graduate management programs of business schools around the world. GMAT is conducted throughout the year at regular intervals. Candidates are allowed to attempt the exam only 5 times in a year, and 8 times in the whole lifetime. One must ensure the gap of 16 days before exam, while scheduling GMAT. The duration of the examination is of 3 hours 30 minutes. In India, there are over 21 states where there exists GMAT test centres. GMAT score is valid upto 5 years and is available upto 10 years. Candidates can register in both online and offline mode. Over 2 lakh candidates apply every year, thus the competition level increases. Candidates must attempt mock tests and practice previous year question papers to prepare well.

- If the candidate is of 13-17years of age, then a written permission from parents or legal gaurdian is required.
Exam Pattern
- To schedule GMAT, one must create an account on GMAC official website and enter academic qualifications.
- One can register either online, over call or through postal mail. It is when you schedule an exam over call, candidates are charged 10$.
- After complete application, one needs to pay whole fee of US $250.
- The exam happens in 4 sections:
- Analytical Writing Assessment- 1 Topic- 30 minutes
- Integrated Reasoning- 12 Questions- 30 minutes
- Quantitative- 31 Questions- 62 minutes
- Verbal- 36 Questions- 65 minutes
