GAT-B (JNUCEEB) Exam Pattern:
Regional Centre for Biotechnology on account of the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India conducts the national-level Graduate Aptitude Test of Biotechnology for admission in various Biotechnology postgraduate courses which was previously known as JNUCEEB. The admission will be based on the rank obtained by candidates in GAT-B for these courses:
• MTech Biotechnology
• MSc Biotechnology
• MSc Agricultural Biotechnology
• MVSc
• M.Sc. in allied areas
in 62 participating colleges. JNU will accept the GAT-B Rank for admission in M.Sc Biotechnology.

Multiple-Choice Questions will be asked in the examination to be attempted in a duration of 3 hours (180 minutes). The online exam will be conducted in English Medium at the National-Level. The exam will possess two parts: Part A and Part B.
► Part A:
1. There will be 60 Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of the senior secondary level. The questions will be from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology.
2. 1 mark will be granted for the correct answer and 0.5 marks will be subtracted for every incorrect answer.
3. Part A exam will be for 60 marks.
► Part B:
1. There will be 100 Multiple-Choice questions (MCQs) of graduation level from which 60 questions are required to be attempted.
2. The questions will be asked from basic Biology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, and allied areas
Chemistry.
3. 3 marks will be granted for the correct answers and 1 mark will be subtracted for every wrong answer.
4. Part B exam will be for 180 marks.
